ITRC received a research grant from the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration for the research project What about tourism? Analysis of the role of the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration in the sustainable development of tourism destinations and travel routes in Iceland.
Ása Marta Sveinsdóttir and Eyrún Jenný Bjarnadóttir, researchers at ITRC, led the application and will be in charge of the project, as well as Guðrún Þóra Gunnarsdóttir, director of ITRC.
The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration received a total of 124 applications. Of these applications, 78 projects were funded and 150 million ISK allocated.
A total of 24 projects from universities were approved this year.
