ITRC Receives Grant for Collaboration with Nord University
The Icelandic Tourism Research Centre (ITRC) recently received a grant from Rannís - Arctic Research and Studies. The fund supports collaboration between Icelandic and Norwegian higher education institutions in the preparation of applications for international competitive research funding. Grants like these are important for ITRC, as they strengthen international partnerships and support the development of exciting new research projects.
Last week, Ása Marta Sveinsdóttir, a researcher at ITRC, visited Nord University in Bodø, Norway, where she worked together with Hindertje Hoarau-Heemstra, an associate professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, on the development of a new research proposal. This trip marked the first step in the application process, and Hindertje is expected to visit the ITRC in May to continue the work.
Ása and Hindertje have previously collaborated on the research Sustainable Arctic Cruise Communities: from practice to governance, led by Hindertje, but this time they are shifting their focus to a different research area.
