Registration for RTD-13 is now open
ITRC in cooperation with University of Iceland is hosting 13th International Conference on Responsible Tourism in Destinations in September in Reykjavik, Iceland. Registration is now open.
The conference theme is Tackling Overtourism – Local Responses. The main purpose is to explore strategies to ensure sustainable tourism development where “overtourism” is occurring through local practices and empowered communities. We envisage that this symposium will identify the research agenda on overtourism and we hope that research partnerships will emerge from it and means of knowledge dissemination identified.
Organisers and collaborating partners are Icelandic Tourism Research Centre, University of Iceland, Responsible Tourism Partnership, Plymouth University, Icelandic Tourism Board, University of Akureyri and Soil Conservation Service of Iceland. The Responsible Tourism Partnership is the rights holder for this series of conferences.
We’re pleased to have a draft conference schedule up – check it out here.
