Survey on travel behaviour and expenditure of foreign tourists

Recently, ITRC signed agreement with the Icelandic Tourism Board regarding data collection of travel behaviour and expenditure of foreign tourists in individual places in Iceland the summer 2019.

This survey has previously been conducted in 14 places around the country.

The summer of 2019 it will be conducted in Akureyri, Borgarnes, Höfn and Mývatnssveit.

The picture below shows the places (and year) of earlier surveys - locations of the 2019 surveys are shown in green.

The aim of the project is to collect data about issues like country of residence, travel companions, length of stay, type of accommodation, expenditure, experience and satisfaction.
